.

A first aid kit consists of a series of basic supplies and medical tools which is used primarily to provide initial medical care for injury victims. In case of any emergency, one must have sufficient first aid supplies with them to rapidly deal with injuries and suffering. There exists a wide range in the contents of first aid Kits based upon the experience and knowledge of the rescuers and the victim himself. Usually, such kits are available in standard sizes and quantities and are easy to assemble.

Every home has a first aid kit available within it. These kits are designed in such a way so as to meet the immediate medical attention requirements of every household member. Depending upon the nature and size of a home rescue operation, a first aid kit could comprise many necessary items like bandages, disinfectants, adhesive tapes, anti-septic liquid, scissors, safety pins, cotton balls and tweezers etc. Every member of the family should be provided with a kit, each person having one to call for assistance if required.

The basic first aid kits generally contain bandages, adhesive tapes, antiseptic liquid and anti-septic liquid. These are the most essential supplies as they can literally save a life. The medical care provided to an individual can be considerably improved with the use of these basic first aid supplies. However, there are also special kits which contain more advanced first aid supplies like artificial limb support, traction devices, burns kits, diabetic first aid kit and etc.

For minor injuries, simple bandages, wipes and ointments may suffice. In case of severe burns, these medical supplies become even more important. Synthetic clothing is also useful as there will be no need to buy new clothes every time there is a need for dressing up. A number of first aid kits also contain medications that can help in the healing of wounds immediately. These include anti- inflammatory and analgesic medications, antibiotics and pain relievers.

A number of first aid kits contain medications that help in recovery from different diseases. These include over the counter medications like Tylenol and aspirin, also see page. There are also homeopathic medicines, alternative medicines and vitamins that can be used. It is better to check the ingredients of medications before buying them. A number of kits contain decongestants and bronchodilators as well. These are used in case of sprains and strains.

There are numerous First Aid Kits available in the market that come in different sizes, designs, colours and forms. It becomes very important to buy one that best suits the personal needs of the victim. The size of the first aid kit depends on the extent of the damage that has been done by the injury. A first aid kit may be kept in a place where it is easily accessible. It may be kept in the car or in the office where it is easy to access and where there is no chance of it becoming misplaced.  Read more at https://www.britannica.com/science/first-aid-treatment
